Meet Madeline, she is a 2013 graduate! I was a little worried when I pulled up and it started to rain but it ended up (aside from the fact that it is about 20 degrees cooler than it has been) being a perfect evening for a session! Of course everything is in full bloom and it is just absolutely gorgeous and then add a beautiful girl and it makes for a perfect session!

If you follow me on Facebook or if you are friends with me on Facebook you already know, I was blessed to be apart of the Child issue of Mozi Magazine this month! So a really funny story. It was a regular day, I was getting my kids lunch and just as I got them all to the table to eat I happened to check my email. When I opened it on my phone I saw the email that said congrats one of your images has been selected to be apart of the March issue (something like that) I literally threw my phone and started dancing…. (yep I’m a dork) My older two kids looked up from their lunches and started laughing. Alivia then says, “MOM that was hilarious will you do that again.”
Once I saw the list of photographers that were going to be featured in the magazine I immediately felt intimidated and SOOO honored!
So ALL that to say the nice folks over a Mozi gave me one free digital copy to give to one of YOU!! If you are a photographer you don’t want to miss out!

Shoot I forgot to post this oh so sweet session! Miss Harper is 9 months old, my babies in my 1st year packages always seem to grow up so quickly! Harper’s mom always comes to me with really fun ideas and this time was no exception! I LOVE it when a client has a vision and then I get to help make it happen!

Last night while I was editing these I was thinking about how much my style has changed over the past 5 years and as I was taking these photos I kept thinking more about how classic or timeless a photo could be rather than getting him posed just the way I wanted him. Now don’t get me wrong I posed him and we even tried a couple of the “popular” poses but I didn’t want to get hung up on those and I have to admit this is one of my favorite newborn sessions to date!
I photographed Ethan’s older sister from birth until her 1st birthday and I was so honored when her parents asked me to do the same for Ethan! This little guy didn’t give in easily for any of the shots. He would be sound asleep but as soon as I tried to straighten out his fingers he would wake up! Of all things! Anyway, I know you didn’t come here to “listen” to me talk so I’ll get right to it and show you the photos!

You are going to start seeing more posts from me! I am getting myself and my business ready to come back after my maternity leave. I had planned to take a full year off, but have recently decided that in the spring I will return. I don’t know my “return to work” date yet but I will soon. Make sure to subscribe to my blog and for sure Facebook (I’m MUCH better about updating Facebook) because when I do announce my return I will have several pretty amazing specials that I will be sharing!! I’m super excited! I do know this when I do return I will be shooting one day a week and I will have slots open all day and then 1 or 2 Saturday mornings a month. My main goal is to make sure my work doesn’t overtake my personal life. I love what I do, there is no question about it but I do love my kids and husband more!!
This is just the front cover but I’m working on a Welcome guide for 2013 clients. It will have ideas for locations, what to wear, what to bring, where to shop and what to expect during a session. It will also include pricing and different information offered at Lavish Photography!

Woah it’s been a LOOOOOOOOOOONG time!!!! Truth. I HATE blogging. I never really know what to say! No excuses though this is just terrible! I have had a TON of sessions that never got blogged, I’m sorry! If you want to check out what has been happening head on over to my FACEBOOK PAGE and check it out! As of right now I am on maternity leave… yep it’s been that long On September 17th we welcomed our 3rd baby, a little boy into the world! We names him Kade William! He is a sweet little guy, ( I think he might be a little spunky) already at 2 months he prefers to sit up rather than lay, he likes “flying” and standing?!!? It’s kinda crazy actually! His older sister and brother adore him and that makes this momma pretty happy! This was our first family of 5 photo, right before we left the hospital!

While I was pregnant I kept thinking after he is here the only thing I want is a photo of all three of my kiddos together…

I plan to be back sometime this spring/summer. My husband had back surgery 4 weeks ago, so it’s been a little more than crazy around here. He can’t lift, bend or twist.. That means he can’t really do much to help out around here! TWO MORE WEEKS until he goes back in for his check up… I CAN DO IT! I CAN DO IT!!!

Last weekend I had the chance to meet the Surendran family for a fun little session. Normally in March I would not be looking forward to going outdoors to do ANY kind of session because it’s cold and just plain nasty here in Indiana, but this year it’s been CRAZY warm! Seriously, I think it was close to 80 the day we had this session! That brought on a whole new set of challenges for me the sun was out in March and we didn’t have leaves on the trees yet and you know what that means?!? NO SHADE!! Thankfully this sweet family trampled through thorn bushes to get to a place with a little shade and we made it work!!  I hope you enjoy your preview guys!!

Wow, I can’t believe it is time (actually past time) for the best of 2011 contest already! This year as I expected was a really amazing year. I once again met so many new amazing people, I photographed the joy of a new baby entering into a family, I photographed couples saying “I DO” and I photographed families who were about to enter into some of the biggest trials they have ever faced. To say that it was an honor to be apart of each one of your lives this past year is an understatement. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of  capturing those moments for you, I am so blessed by your trust and all of your stories. I really do have one of the most amazing jobs!

Now here is how it is going to work this year! Last year I did everything on Facebook but this year it will all be on the blog! As of Jan 1st I am offering a new option for you sessions! So many people have asked me if I would ever offer the session/CD package and I have gone back and forth about it. Here is the thing, this is my job and something I LOVE to do with all my heart and I really want to make my clients happy because well you all rock, but I also as I have said before make it worth leaving my husband and kids to do it. So anyway, here it is, I’m SUPER excited to offer the package and hope you guys will be excited as well!!! Thank you so so so so much for making 2011 once again an incredible year. I was able to walk along side families celebrating the birth of a new baby, I was able to watch those tiny babies turn into fun, and active 1 year olds. I had the privilege of photographing families walking into trials and also families starting out! Seriously, I feel honored to have been able to be apart of these families lives, your lives. Thank you!

WOW I didn’t realize how long it has been since I blogged. I don’t know how it is for all of you but the holiday season is a bit nuts! We haven’t been home for a weekend since Thanksgiving! Thankfully it’s slowing down and life seems a bit more “normal” now! Praise Jesus!! So I don’t normally do this but I’m going to post photos from all on this post so I’m not blowing up the facebook feed with new posts all in one! So here you go!!!
